Cynthia Khanyisile Msibi
Summer Research Intern
Cynthia Khanyisile Msibi is a third-year Biomedical Engineering student at Kocaeli University’s Faculty of Technology in Turkey. Her interests include biomedical engineering, rehabilitation technologies, mechanical design, and soft robotics.
She is a member of the mechanical unit of the KOU HypeRush Car Levitation Team, where she focuses primarily on the design and production of the levitation rail system. In parallel, she is developing a wearable arm rehabilitation system, further strengthening her interest in assistive and rehabilitation technologies.
As part of her compulsory summer internship, Cynthia joined the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Engineering, Croatia, as a visiting student intern. Under the supervision of Dr. Ervin Kamenar, she will work on soft robotics and rehabilitation-oriented EMG applications within the projects Advanced soft robots: data-driven development, modeling and control and Koopman-driven real-time sEMG signal decomposition for robotic rehabilitation.
